At a snail’s pace?

To the editor:

Six years ago I moved from Ohio to Cape Coral. I came down Burnt Store Road and saw that construction was taking place to widen this main access from I-75 to Cape Coral. A good plan, I thought.

Six years later not much has been accomplished and what has been done leads one to question why would you have 15 miles of total darkness and then a few miles of construction with light poles so close together they blind you? Who planned that? More importantly, who wrote a never ending contract for this work?

At the rate construction is going, it will be 100 years before a connection is made between Rt. 41 and Pine Island Road. Does anyone ever assume responsibility for these decisions? Taxpayers want to know.
