Port Authority recognized by Southwest Florida FPRA
The Lee County Port Authority, operator of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field, was recognized by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association at the 2017 Local Image Awards in Fort Myers. LCPA received an Award of Distinction for the 47th Annual FAC Conference "Florida Airports Defining the Future."
The Port Authority successfully branded and marketed the annual Florida Airports Council conference, resulting in positive recognition for both FAC and LCPA. With top-notched programming and skilled planning, the communications and marketing team exceeded expectations for attendance, speakers, theme, opening ceremony and Monday night host event.
The Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA conducts the Local Image Awards annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in Southwest Florida. SPADA to hold annualSPADA-thon May 23
In its eighth year, SPADA Salon & Day Spa will host its annual event, SPADA-thon on Tuesday, May 23, from 4-8 p.m., to provide deep-discounted services in order to benefit local charities.
The fundraiser is expected to exceed last year's $33,000 campaign goal to benefit PACE Center for Girls, Lee; Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida; and Valerie's House. In addition to the specially priced salon services, the evening will offer fashion boutique vendors, tarot card readings, crystal healers, food, wine, music and even some exciting surprises.
Admission to SPADA-thon is $10 and one or more new or gently used dresses, handbags, accessories or shoes to be sold at Love That Dress!, an annual shopping extravaganza hosted by PACE Center for Girls, Lee being held later this year.

Caliber Collision food drive begins
In its ongoing commitment to fight childhood hunger, Caliber Collision is raising the bar with a goal to collect 5 million meals during its 6th Annual Restoration Food Drive, which began April 17 and runs through May 19.

Third annual Hooters and Hounds Saturday at Fort Myers location
Fort Myers Hooters is teaming up with Lee County Domestic Animal Services, Gulf Coast Humane Society and Big Hearts for Big Dogs Rescue for a pet adoption event on Saturday, April 22, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Hooters of Fort Myers, 4411 S. Cleveland Ave.
This is the third annual Hooters and Hounds. This event has resulted in the adoption of 35 dogs.
Donations are also being accepted. It will be a fun filled day for guests to come out and meet their local Hooters Girls.
Being an active participant in the community is important to Hooters of South Florida. That is why it has teamed up with these local shelters and rescue group for this event.
