FSW baseball schedule set
January 12, 2018

Head coach Jamie Corr announced the Florida SouthWestern State College Baseball team's 52-game regular season schedule, which features 29 home games at City of Palms Park and multiple games against opponents ranked in the final NJCAA National Top 25.

FSW, for the third straight year, will call City of Palms Park in downtown Fort Myers its home stadium. City of Palms Park, originally built by the city of Fort Myers, was the spring training site of the Boston Red Sox from 1993 until 2011, when the team moved for spring training in 2012 to JetBlue Stadium.

The Buccaneers open the season with five consecutive home games and will spend 11 of their first 15 games of the season at City of Palms Park. The FSW home opener is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 26 (6 p.m. first pitch) against ASA-Miami.

The Purple and Aqua will play several contests against teams that were ranked in the final 2017 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I national poll (No. 13 Polk State (6); No. 15 Palm Beach State (2); No. 16 Santa Fe (1)).

The 2018 schedule will also feature 30 Suncoast Conference games (15 home, 15 away). The Suncoast Conference is made up of six schools, including FSW, Hillsborough Community College, Polk State College, South Florida State College, St. Petersburg College and State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota.

Postseason play begins May 11 with the NJCAA DI Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. The NJCAA baseball season culminates May 26-June 2 at the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. (Sam Suplizio Field).
