Built on what was once a Civil War plantation and home to General Shaddelee, the contemporary Shaddelee Plantation has been sold for $7 million furnished, a record high sale for Fort Myers in the last 10 years. The property sits on nearly an acre of desirable riverfront land and boasts more than 9,200 square feet under air of lavish living space.

Located in one of the most sought-after areas off McGregor Boulevard, the estate has an apparent European influence from the exterior with a crisp white faade and minimalist landscaping complimenting the modern design. The home has expansive riverfront views, sprawling outdoor living space complete with a patent-pending 55,000-gallon infinity edge double pool, spa, fire bowls and wet bar. The property also boasts 103 feet of seawall and a private dock directly on the Caloosahatchee River.

Inside, the plantation is fully furnished and offers five bedrooms, a den, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, and a three-car garage. German builder, Klaus Kermel, who builds 5-star luxury hotels in Europe, executed the interior design with materials and furniture from all over the world. Safety and energy efficiency were also built into the home with 18-inch thick exterior walls and impact UV rated window and door glass.
