23th Annual MangoMania coming to German American Club July 13-14
July 5, 2019

It's mango time! On Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14, the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will host the 23th Annual MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival.

The event will be held at the German American Social Club, at 2101 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Gates will open to the public at 10 a.m. and will close at 5 p.m. both days.

During the event, islanders will be giving visitors a taste of "Island Time," showcasing local mango growers; island music; and the villages of Matlacha, Pine Island Center, St. James City, Bokeelia and Pineland.

There will also be contests and great prizes.

And remember, it's all about the mango!

Who has the best homemade mango recipes? How many mango pies can you eat? Who has grown the largest mango?

How far can you throw a mango? How accurately can you toss a mango into a basket?

All this is just the start of the annual MangoMania Festival. Visitors won't want to miss the mango tasting tables, mango smoothies and mango breads. The hard part will be making your selections to take home.

There will also be a Mango Hat Parade, cooking contests between local restaurants, live music and over 100 vendors selling crafts and goodies.

There will be a Christmas in July Snow Tent courtesy of Eddie Barnhill Jr.'s "Got Ice." Guests can also meet Mango Queen Madam DJ and the Mango Queen Mum!

The Pine Island Kiwanis will also be doing a raffle for a Mango Drop where the first prize is $1,000.

Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the gate. Children under 10 are free.
